Field Crew

Our Field Crew is instrumental in growing all annual and perennial crops. Full and part-time seasonal positions are available. Each field crew member will assume the lead in at least one area: production, harvest and post-production, greenhouse, irrigation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Fieldwork: crop seeding and transplanting, planting, watering, fertilizing, weed control
  • Harvesting produce, washing and packing, order fulfillment, and distribution
  • General farm maintenance, cleaning and repair
  • Follow farm and food safety practices

Other duties may include:

  • Assisting in farmers market booth operations

Time Commitment: Crew members must be able to commit to working the entire season, April through November.

Most workdays begin at 8:00 am; however, during the heart of the season the days can start as early as 6:30 am depending on the day’s tasks and the weather.  Flexibility in scheduling is a must. Work is scheduled primarily Monday through Friday, including holidays; however, weekend work is often necessary. Because our vegetables don’t take breaks, we also work on holidays.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a balance of grit, patience, efficiency, an eye for detail, and the ability to handle the physical demands of the work (i.e. lifting 50 lbs+ repetitively).  Applicants must have a passion for growing food sustainably and be willing to work outdoors, in all weather.  A sense of humor is a must as it helps to get through the toughest of days. The ability to self-manage and work well with others is essential.  Excellent communication skills, a good attitude, and professional manner are also key.

At least one season of market vegetable production is preferred. Experience operating farm equipment is a plus.

Position is hourly, with competitive wages based on experience. Farm-fresh produce provided when available.
